Nitish Kumar took oath as the chief minister of Bihar for the ninth time on Sunday, and said he is back to where he was before. In 2020, Kumar was with the NDA alliance that was voted to power in the state. In 2022, he walked out and became the chief minister of the JD(U)-RJD Mahagathbandhan. In less than two years, he has now gone back to the NDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nitish Kumar’s switch is a big blow to Lalu Prasad and his RJD. But former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav took the blow in his stride, saying that the game is not yet over in Bihar. JD(U) will be finished in 2024, Tejashwi said, calling Nitish Kumar a ‘tired chief minister’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nitish Kumar was a tired chief minister. Whatever the Mahagathbandhan government achieved was because of the RJD and the public will remain with us,” Tejashwi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ending days of speculation, JD(U) president Nitish Kumar on Sunday exited the \u2018Mahagathbandhan\u2019 alliance, ditching Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and staked claim to form a new government in Bihar with on-and-off ally BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kumar, along with his two deputies, took oath<\/a> around 5 pm at Raj Bhawan.
